Two ophthalmologists, one integrated approach: multidisciplinary eye care, attention to systemic aspects and, when appropriate, natural medicine. Systemic Ophthalmology is a cultural and clinical approach, not a medical specialty recognized at the regulatory level.
We provide outpatient and diagnostic services in Romagna (Faenza, Ravenna, Castrocaro Terme), with specific attention to possible links between ocular symptoms and systemic conditions. When needed, we work together with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care (before and after treatments), integrating, when considered appropriate, natural medicine, metabolic and mitochondrial support and a systemic‑oriented ophthalmology approach, always in accordance with ophthalmological guidelines and current scientific evidence.
When an eye problem is recurrent or “resistant”, assessment does not stop at the eye and may, on a case‑by‑case basis, also consider possible extra‑ocular factors (low‑grade inflammation, diet, microbiota, sleep, stress, drugs, comorbidities), in line with available scientific evidence. Working in multispecialty centres facilitates discussion with other specialists and allows, when appropriate and without replacing evidence‑based therapies, the integration of natural medicine and metabolic and mitochondrial support, in coordination with the patient’s GP. We see patients in specialised clinics in Emilia‑Romagna, mainly in Faenza, Ravenna and Castrocaro Terme; for a broader description of our approach, please see the Vision page.
We see patients in Faenza, Ravenna and Castrocaro Terme, in specialised outpatient clinics. Online booking is recommended to facilitate organisation, reduce waiting times and allow structured information sharing with the GP and other specialists when involved.
